- Your dreams are yours. You let us use them only to run the app for you.
- Content written or narrated by AI can be imperfect. Use your own judgment.
These Terms of Use ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Mindworks Inc ("Mindworks", "we", "us") about your use of the Dream Doctor app and this website (together, "Dream Doctor"). By creating an account or using Dream Doctor, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use Dream Doctor.
1. Not medical advice
Dream Doctor is a self-help tool for dreams that keep coming back. It is not medical advice, therapy or a formal nightmare treatment. It doesn't diagnose or treat any condition, and it doesn't replace a doctor, therapist or other qualified professional. If your sleep or nightmares worry you, talk to one. Don't ignore or delay professional advice because of something in Dream Doctor.
2. Who can use Dream Doctor
You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract. Dream Doctor is offered for use in the United States.
3. Your account
Keep your sign-in details secure and tell us if you think someone else has accessed your account. You're responsible for activity in your account. You can delete your account anytime in the app, in Me, then Account.
4. Your content
Your dreams, answers, endings, check-ins, messages and recordings ("Your Content") belong to you. You give Mindworks a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, process, transmit and display Your Content, including through our service providers, only to operate, secure and improve Dream Doctor for you, as described in our Privacy Policy. This license ends when you delete Your Content or your account, except for copies kept as described in the Privacy Policy.
Don't submit content you don't have the right to share, and don't include other people's private information.
5. AI features
Dream Doctor uses artificial intelligence to write guide questions, endings, Dream Journey scripts and coach replies, and to narrate audio. AI output can be inaccurate, incomplete or unsuitable, and it may not reflect the views of Dr. Breus or Mindworks. Review it with your own judgment and change anything that doesn't feel right.
The narration voice and "Talk to Dr. Breus" are AI voices created from Dr. Michael Breus's voice and guidance, used with his permission. A conversation with them is not a conversation with Dr. Breus, and it is not medical advice.
6. Your own voice
If the app offers you the option to narrate with your own voice, you may only record your own voice, reading the sentences the app gives you. You may not record or upload anyone else's voice. You can delete your voice anytime, as described in the Privacy Policy.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use Dream Doctor for anything illegal, harmful or abusive;
- try to access other people's accounts or data, or to get around security or usage limits;
- reverse engineer, copy or resell Dream Doctor, except where the law allows it;
- use automated means to access Dream Doctor or extract its content, including to train AI models;
- try to make the AI produce harmful content, or misrepresent AI output as statements by Dr. Breus.
8. Our content
Dream Doctor, including its software, design, text, illustrations, audio, the Dream Doctor name and logo, and Dr. Breus's name, likeness and voice as used in the app, belongs to Mindworks or its licensors. We give you a personal, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app on Apple devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use, under these Terms. We keep all other rights.
9. Price
Dream Doctor is currently free. If we introduce paid features, we'll tell you the price and terms before you're charged, and purchases will go through Apple.
10. Third-party services
Dream Doctor relies on third-party services, such as Apple and Google sign-in, AI providers and phone and messaging apps for crisis lines. Their own terms apply to your use of them, and we aren't responsible for them.
11. Ending your use
You can stop using Dream Doctor and delete your account anytime. We may suspend or end your access if you break these Terms or if we need to in order to protect users or comply with the law. We may also change or stop offering features, or Dream Doctor itself. If we stop offering Dream Doctor, we'll try to give you notice and a chance to download your data.
12. Disclaimers
Dream Doctor is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, Mindworks disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don't promise that Dream Doctor will change your dreams, improve your sleep, be error-free or always be available.
13. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Mindworks and its officers, employees, partners and licensors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of data, arising from your use of Dream Doctor. Our total liability for any claim about Dream Doctor is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or US$ 50.
Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that can't be limited by law.
14. Indemnity
If you break these Terms or the law while using Dream Doctor, you agree to cover reasonable losses and costs this causes Mindworks, to the extent the law allows.
15. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Los Angeles County, California, unless the law where you live requires otherwise.
16. Apple App Store terms
If you downloaded Dream Doctor from the Apple App Store:
- These Terms are between you and Mindworks, not Apple. Mindworks, not Apple, is responsible for Dream Doctor and its content.
- Your license to use the app is limited to Apple-branded devices you own or control, as allowed by the Usage Rules in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for Dream Doctor.
- If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price, if any. To the extent the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the app.
- Mindworks, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims about the app, including product liability claims, claims that it fails to meet legal or regulatory requirements, consumer protection or privacy claims, and intellectual property infringement claims.
- You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a US government embargo, and that you are not on any US government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
17. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. We'll change the date at the top, and if a change is significant, we'll tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. If you keep using Dream Doctor after that, you accept the updated Terms.
18. General
These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and Mindworks about Dream Doctor. If a part of these Terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies. If we don't enforce a right immediately, we don't give it up. You can't transfer these Terms without our consent; we may transfer them as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.
